Here is what I managed to purchase for $144.00 - mind you there were some non-food items and some pantry staples that will last much longer than one meal. I bought tomatoes (fresh and in an aseptic container), veggie broth, puffed millet cereal, parchment paper, rice noodles, canning jars and lids, a large container of mixed salad greens, 8 oz. of baby bella mushrooms, 3 pound bag of apples, two squashes, head of cabbage, bag of sweet potatoes, 5 pound bag of russet potatoes, English muffins (gluten free), organic popping corn, four bags of dried garbanzo beans, spices of all varieties, coconut aminos, BBQ sauce, tomato paste, salt free stone ground mustard, red onions, frozen mixed veggie varieties, brown rice and sparkling water with lime for a non-soda treat. There were probably a couple other things I bought also that I'm simply forgetting at this moment.
Now, before you get mad at my buying water in plastic bottles, I don't trust the ground water in our area due to GMO corn crop pesticide runoff practically in our back yard and for the sparkling water it was plastic or aluminum cans (which have been linked to Alzheimer increased risk). I recycle and try to use as little as possible.
I can't wait to get cooking!
