After about a week of not having twice daily access to a big salad buffet I craved a good salad. So I brought out a new gadget to slice and julienne some salad veggies. It was actually quite easy once I got the hang of the mandolin slicer.
I also made up a pound of dried pinto beans this morning in my Instant Pot pressure cooker. I'd soaked the beans overnight, rinsed them well this morning and pressure cooked them for 5 minutes and did a natural pressure release (took about 23 minutes).
To make the BBQ beans I simply added my favorite BBQ sauce, a local brand here in WI called "Two Fat Guys" and mixed in about one tablespoon of sauce to my bowl of beans and stirred well. Tasted just like I'd slaved all day over a hot stove making baked beans...but no!
