Thankfully where I live I have access to a buffet that over the last 8 years has gotten quite good with having a fresh array of raw veggies and fruits available. I also appreciate the water cooked oats - they ask if you want milk on top instead of cooking it in. My options at breakfast are limited due to SOS free, gluten-free, soy-free, and banana free, but healthy, and I thankfully enjoy eating the same thing daily. I add 2T of flax to my oatmeal (and actually I'll confess I eat two bowls of the oatmeal), lots of ground cinnamon, one small scoop of unsweetened California raisins in each bowl. I pair it with fresh fruit, sliced tomatoes, fresh red onions and water. Yum!
What do you like to enjoy for your plant-based breakfast?
Here's to a great morning start! - Trish
ps. In case you're curious...I have gluten intolerance but have not tested positive for Celiac, thankfully, and so for me non-GF oats seem to be ok. They may have a little cross contamination, but at the serve yourself buffet that happens to even the best of my gluten-free options. I make GF oats at home and do not knowingly consume any product containing gluten as an added ingredient. It is the best I can do with the options I have. Should anyone test positive for Celiac you would need to avoid the buffet and choose the main dining room to be certain your food has not been cross-contaminated, but I bet you already guess that!
